Mary E. Hutchinson on Antiques Roadshow

One of Mary E. Hutchinson’s paintings from the 1930s showed up on Antiques Roadshow last night!  According to the owner, it is a portrait of her husband’s aunt named Lola who worked as a cigarette girl at the Copacabana.

I can’t wait to learn more about the family stories associated with this painting!

New Mary E. Hutchinson Etching Found!

This etching by Mary E. Hutchinson of a man playing the cello popped up in an estate sale this week. This is one I had never seen before.  Although she was primarily a painter, Hutchinson produced a number of etchings in the late 1920s and early 1930s.
